Zumba Fitness DVD Review

Zumba! What a lovely word and one that’s being used a lot right now. Zumba is now a verb, oh yes, to Zumba or not to Zumba? Well, in my opinion it’s definitely the former.

I've used numerous workout videos before, but never anything quite like this. Zumba Fitness is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive.

Since its inception in 2001, the Zumba program has grown to become the world's largest – and most successful – dance-fitness program with more than 12 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages taking weekly Zumba classes in over 110,000 locations across more than 125 countries.

I have to say that I was sceptical of yet another fitness craze and bought this set with a view to saying, “yes I Zumba”, then using the DVD as a cup stand and the toning sticks to prop open my wonky back door. But no! That’s not what happened, I managed to clear the house of anyone who may be inclined to laugh or throw unhelpful comments and popped on my Zumba Fitness DVD. I was instantly transported into a Latin fiesta. My body moved to the beat almost without effort and I was swept up with the whole thing. The moves were easy to master and the music gave my soul a lift. I can’t say that I have lost a significant amount of weight as a direct result of my Zumba sessions, but I can say that I always feel better about myself after a Zumba session.
