Butlers Chocolates Review - Perfect Chocolate Gifts

To be honest, it's very difficult to know where to really begin with an article like this. If I were reviewing a single box of chocolates, or a selection of the bars Butlers produce it would be quite easy, but I'm going to try to give an overview of the whole range. I've sampled quite a few, much to the dismay of my diet and all of them have been delicious.

The official press line from Butlers Chocolates says this: "Butlers Chocolates are renowned and loved across the globe for their delicious taste and superb quality. They have stood the test of time – winning top awards in the international Great Taste Awards. Hand-packed in a luxurious presentation box, these chocolates offer the ultimate in chocolate indulgence."

This is all well and good, but what it does not really convey is just how delicious these chocolates are.

I have only recently discovered Butlers Chocolate, and as someone who really likes chocolate, in fact it's fair to say that I love it, the discovery came as a very pleasant surprise. I've tried chocolate from all over the world, some I have loved and some I have been less than crazy about, but a few weeks ago I when I tasted Butlers Chocolates for the first time, I tasted the finest chocolates I had ever enjoyed.

Butlers Chocolates are what I consider to be a "boutique" brand of chocolates, you're not very likely to find them in your local mini-mart for example, well, unless your local store is a branch of Selfridges.

And even though I'm a self confessed snob, I've always considered these kinds of luxury chocolates to be something of a rip-off. Sure they taste great, but they are *so* expensive that they are simply not worth the very high price. Much to my delight then, when I discovered Butlers Chocolates, and the fact that they are very reasonably priced. Ok, so they might not have the most perfect mold or the microscopic attention to detail that some of the over priced brands have, but what they do have in spades is an amazing taste and texture; a taste you only get when a great deal of thought goes into making the perfect chocolate.

For my birthday, I took a few selections into the office to share amongst my colleagues; I don't think any other food I've taken in got as much attention as the boxes of Butlers received. Quite a few people ordered some for themselves on-line right away and quite a few more added them to their "gift idea" list. Which brings me to my next point, Butlers Chocolates make fantastic gifts.

I think I know what I'll be getting people for Christmas this year, and in the meantime quite a few cheeky boxes for myself :)
